I have to really admire the restraint of the crowd. In the last decade I’ve seen more road-rage-fueled fist fights break out on the Tobin than seem to have happened during this whole episode, which must have been pretty scary!

I remember hearing about this event. I didn’t realize how close to a disaster it was. The Golden Gate Bridge is special. I’m not sure why, it could be the location, the way it looks or a combination of the two. We have crossed it many times, picnicked at its base, and looked at its beauty from many vantage points.
THE GOLDEN GATE: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF AMERICA’S GREATEST BRIDGE sounds like it will have much interesting information. Good luck with its release.

The Golden Gate bridge is such an iconic image that it would be great to read the full story of it’s history. It is still considered an engineering marvel and I am in awe of it every time I see a picture of it.
