If a wife here retaliates she is imprisoned, the husband takes the kids, so when she comes out she has to return to the husband. He of course beats her even worse this time. This goes on until the woman is finally killed, or she manages to get community assistance, even so she is not safe. A group of chaps with baseball bats would be more affective than the law is at present. When will local councils own up to this problem and do something about it.
